 May our hearts be filled with love, joy, and hope, because without the Resurrection, Christ's death would be the end of our hopes, and without the Crucifixion, Jesus could not have risen from the dead.

Dear FLC Friends and accompaniers -
Warmest greetings of Peace and Joy to you!

I am glad to send you the FLC Circle of Prayer (CoP) v. 27, see attached.
Let me take this opportunity to immensely thank you for your contribution to this volume. May you be blessed more, and those who read and share your reflection and prayer be also touched and blessed equally.
As usual, this is for sharing widely. This is also available from the FLC website or by email. And to be announced on our FB page, with one reflection and prayer to be featured/posted every month. The post can also be shared widely.
Do let us know your feedback and suggestions if you have any.
It has been a pleasure on our part, Raquel and I, in doing this volume.  So we thank and bless all of you for your  generosity!

Das französische Forum teilt mit

Anne-Marie Schott, die  französische Nationalkoordinatorin läßt uns wissen:

"In France we have been reflecting on the words of St Paul (2 Corinthians 12:10). "For when I am weak, then am I strong.” Indeed we are getting older and yet have hope for renewal. In Strasbourg three future members are interested. 

We also welcomed a woman who has lived in Palestine for a conversation and exchange, and who enlightened us on the real situation. This was in response to the letter of support we had sent as Christian women to the Christian women of Palestine and the wider region. (The two groups Paris and Strasbourg worked together).

We have also taken part in marches for Europe and against anti-Semitism. "

The EU Parliament ratifies the Istanbul Convention (10.05.2023)

Many of our countries have already ratified the Istanbul Convention about violence against women.

Today the EU Parliament planned to ratify the Convention. A hope for strengthening the work against gender based violence. Unfortunately six countries have not taken the decision: Bulgaria, Poland, Hungaria, Czech Republic, Latvia, and Lithuanian.  That means that partly the Convention does have effect in these countries, but there is no demand on preventive work  and social justice rights for exposed women.

Die Schlußbotschaft

Die  Generalversammlung 2022 entwarf am letzten Tag eine Schlußbotschaft, die das neugewählte CC in seiner ersten Zusammenkunft auf Malta bearbeitete und fertig stellte.

11. Generalversammlung vom 5.-9. August 2022 in Strasbourg/Frankreich
80 Frauen aus 24 Ländern.

Hope and Responsibility  "....and always have your answer ready for people who ask you  the reason for the hope that you have." (1 P 3, 15)

Hoffnung und Verantwortung  "…Seid immer bereit, allen, die Euch danach fragen,   zu erklären, welche Hoffnung in Euch lebt.“ 1. Petrus 3,15)

Die Generalversammlung ist inhaltsreich und vielfältig verlaufen.

Der neu gewählte Vorstand, genannt Coordinating Committee (CC) besteht aus
den 3 Co-Präsidentinnen:
- .Marijana Aizenkol, Serbien
- Marianna Apresyan, Armenien
- Carin Gadbring, Schweden
                                           und vier weiteren Mitgliedern:
- Hanna Wr, Deutschland
- Judita Paàlfi,  Rumänien
- Anthea Sully, England
- Jelena Ljubenovic, Serbien
                                            Hinzu kommen  die
- Schatzmeisterin (Gabriele Kienesberger, Österreich) 
-  Assistentin für das CC (Maria Koutatzi, Griechenland/Malta),

Sehr bewegend war die Zeremonie als das bisherige CC die neu Gewählten mit einem sehr persönlichen Segen in die neuen Aufgaben entließ.

Wir, die deutsche Delegation ( 4 Delegierte  Mechtild Böcher, Dörte Massow, Marianne Milde, Constanze Spranger)  und 2 Frauen im Gaststatus (Elisabeth Bücking, Johanna Friedlein), sowie eine junge Frau (Hannah W. im "Internship Programme") fuhren erschöpft unfd zufrieden heim.

Etwa 80 Frauen im Alter von 17- 84 Jahren, aus 24 europäischen Ländern trafen  sich  zur Konferenz, um das 40jährige Bestehen gebührend zu feiern, aber auch, um inhaltlich zu arbeiten - siehe das Schriftwort aus dem 1. Petrusbrief. (...)

Was bedrängt uns angesichts des Krieges in der Ukraine?
Einen Austausch zu dieser Frage hatte das Europäische Forum am 10.Mai 2022 als Zoom-Meeting.Im Gespräch miteinander zu bleiben, das war unser Ziel.
Es ging uns nicht darum, Positionen zu debattieren, sondern ums Zuhören.Wie geht es uns in diesen Wochen und Monaten? Das wollten wir einander mitteilen und Unterschiede aushalten.Das ist jetzt schwer, weil wir an unserem jeweiligen Ort so verschiedene Perspektiven haben. Viele von uns fühlen sich hilflos und unsicher, andere sind verletzt und sehr persönlich betroffen. (...)
